Meet the team.

Christina McBeth.

Christina McBeth

Founder and CEO

Christina has been passionate about social issues since she was a child and has always liked volunteering. She found food rescue to be the perfect platform to address her desire to help others in a sustainable way, while addressing the food waste issue. A mother of three boys and trained as a Chiropractor, she is happily married and living in Havelock North.

Mike Shakespeare.

Mike Shakespeare

Board Chair

Mike Shakespeare has been part of the Nourished for Nil team since mid 2017 and the director of the board since 2018. Mike lived in Australia employed as a managing director at Watties and settled back in Hawke’s Bay several years ago. Ever since he has devoted his time and energy to the food rescue group. His expertise and know-how is a highly valued asset to the organisation.

Marion Shakespeare.

Marion Shakespeare

Produce Manager

Marion joined the team in 2017 as a volunteer helping bag potatoes. Fast forward and she is now the produce coordinator and all around back room magician. Any food that comes in or goes out does so under her watchful eye. Never one to be idle, Marion comes to work early and leaves late every single day of the week.

Zolton Tolchard.

Zolton Tolchard

Operations Manager

Zolton was born in Ashburton and moved to Hawke's Bay with his family in 1988. He is passionate about climate change, sustainability and social Issues. Nourished for Nil allows him the platform to realise those passions and feels extremely fortunate to be part of the Nourished for Nil team. Zolton was employed by Watties and other local industries for many years in various operations and site management roles.

Donna Bird.

Donna Bird

Social Supermarket Manager - Napier

Originally from Wairoa Donna settled in Hawkes Bay in 2012. Having worked as a teacher for 35 years Donna has spent much of her life giving her time and energy to others. A dedicated mum of 3, she has also spent a fair bit of time travelling overseas. In 2022, she started looking to give back to the community in a way she hadn't before and joined the Nourished for Nil team in 2022. Like everyone else on the team, Donna cares deeply about food waste and is passionate about sustainability. When she's not working, she loves spending time with her whanau and friends.

Tracey Wogan.

Tracey Wogan

Grants and Communications Manager

Tracey and her family made the move to Hawke's Bay in 2013, leaving the big smoke of Auckland for the greener pastures of her husband's childhood town. Over the course of her career Tracey has worked as a writer, editor, communications specialist and accountant - all skills she puts to good use in her work for Nourished for Nil. She is excited to be contributing to the Hawke's Bay community through this fantastic organisation, and loves being part of such a motivated, purpose-driven team.

Grayson Crosswell.

Grayson Crosswell

Logistics Manager

Grayson joined Nourished for Nil in 2026 with experience in local transport and warehousing logistics. Hawke’s Bay born and bred, he is a whiz on the forklift and keeps our busy warehouse running smoothly. Grayson is stoked to be working with an organisation making such a great contribution to the community.
